POSTURE TIP #18 LIFTING

LIFT WITH YOUR CORE, KEEP IT CLOSE

Bend and lift with awareness PROTECT YOURSELF FROM INJURY BY BEING AWARE AND FOLLOWING THESE SIMPLE GUIDELINES. Imagine a centre-line coming up from between your feet. Then, from the ground up, focus on stacking each of these PostureZones® 1) Feet and legs

  • Plant your feet shoulder width apart

  • Wearing shoes does help

  • Bend through your knees

  • Use leg power to lift

2) Pelvis

  • Tuck in your pelvis to engage your core

  • Carry as close to your centre as possible

3) Torso

  • Keep your back straight, don't hunch over.

  • Pull your shoulders back and down

  • Make sure you have a good grip on whatever you're carrying

4) Head

  • Look straight forward

  • Keep your ears aligned with your shoulders
