GOOD POSTURE REQUIRES CONTROL
Posture is about balance, and that means a lot more than just alignment or standing up straight. No matter how crooked someone’s posture is, if they are vertical – the body is technically balancing. Your posture is literally how you are controlling your body mass to maintain verticality. In other words, it’s what you do with your head and shoulders, torso and pelvis, feet and legs – to keep from falling down.
Focused Motor Control Exercise
Exercising with poor posture trains you to stand, sit and move poorly. Exercises such as yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates are good posture strengthening protocols. These motor control exercises are the best at helping you check in with your body (be aware), move your best (with core control), and get the most out of all your exercise and physical activity.
Strengthening exercises using fun, low-tech tools like exercise balls to train muscles and your core or even sitting on a ball while at work are good tips to help you stand taller and stronger.
It is important the your spine is in alignment before commencing any posture strengthening exercises and a session at the chiropractor can make sure of that!
